Galtung on Information Society
“As usual we are treated to lies and two of them are the “information society” and the “information superhighway”. A century ago the slogan was education. The reality was more schooling. The reality today is more computers and more communication via computers. But information? Let us take the word more seriously, knowing that “disinformation society” and the “disinformation toll road” (even patenting life itself) are taking shape around us and have been doing so for some time.” (Galtung, 1998)

Hi Baljit I’ve been looking for peace related blogs and I came across yours on Galtung on Information Society during my trawl, so I thought it would be polite to let you know about my visit. You are most welcome to come and visit me at peace. I would also be happy to trade links with you if you are interested. Bye for now and have a nice day! Roy.
